Senior Engineer (Integration)

SF32611

Starting Salary: £43,445

About the role

We're looking for a Senior Engineer (Integration) to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.

Using your experience in facility upgrade or construction projects you will manage the interfaces between facility design packages and work with users and other stakeholders to ensure that the integrated facility provides the sustainment capability. You will also manage the interfaces with other Dockyard facilities and upgrade projects to ensure "joined up" development on the Dockyard site.

This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career and assist in the delivery of Defence design and safety engineering projects, with opportunities for further development and progression within the Company.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need a degree or equivalent in a Civil, Mechanical or Electrical engineering discipline and suitable appropriate experience in Design Management, Project Management and major infrastructure construction in a multi-discipline environment. You will be a Chartered Engineer or equivalent professional. Project management qualifications (APM / Prince 2) would be highly advantageous

We would also like you to have experience in the following areas:

  • Effective writing and presentation skills along with a good working knowledge of Microsoft office applications.
  • The ability to use BIM clash detection tools would be highly advantageous, as would previous experience working in Devonport Dockyard.

What else do I need to know?

  • The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
  • We are happy to talk about flexible working. Please ask about alternative patterns of work at interview.
