About the role
We're looking for a PMO Analyst to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.

Business Solutions supports the IT needs across the Marine sector of Babcock. The Portfolio and Resource Management function sits within the Business Relations part of the Business Solutions department. The Portfolio Analyst is responsible for supporting the Portfolio Resource Manager with collating and understanding the resource demand for projects and programmes in addition to providing PMO services to support the portfolio, programme and project management of the Business Solutions department.

Key aspects of the role will include
*The collation of Project demand for pipeline and in-flight projects
*Working in collaboration with the Portfolio Resource Manager to compile monthly resource allocations & long term forecasting.
*Providing operational and administrative support to the Project demand management process from Pre-pipeline stage through to Assess
*Assisting with compilation and distribution of Project Portfolio reports;
*Striving for continuous improvement and ensure compliance to Business Solutions processes

What do I need to do the role?
It is desirable to have an APM Fundamentals Qualification and educated to degree level or equivalent.

We would also like you to have the following:
*Pronounced analytical and planning skills coupled with an independent, objective and process-oriented way of working
*Excellent verbal and written communication skills
*Excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working in teams and confident in dealing with clients/users
*Understanding of importance of commercial constraints
*Strong diplomacy and negotiation skills
*Self-motivated, able to plan and schedule own work within a limited time horizon

Lastly you will have experience in implementation of process improvements.

What else do I need to know?
* The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
