About the role
Babcock International is one of the largest providers of support services to the emergency services sector. We manage vehicles and equipment on behalf of organisations such as London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police Service and the Highways Agency. And as one of our Vehicle Mechanics, you'll play a vital role in keeping their vehicles on the road and in great working order.
Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for the servicing, repair and overhaul of vehicles and general equipment including diagnostic and inspection duties, manufacture of miscellaneous items, and carrying out equipment examination to meet production requirements.
Further responsibilities include:
- Carry out work to the required standard and specification as detailed on the BaaN job card in accordance with AESP's, customer requirements, current regulations, local instructions, process plans and other technical publications.
- Undertake diagnostic duties on equipment and to carry out road testing.
- Ensure all BaaN transactions are carried out in accordance with processes and that time is booked daily.
This position has an excellent work/life balance with an early finish on Fridays and flexible working pattern accruement.
What do I need to do the role?
First and foremost you'll need to be educated in City & Guild Certificates in Heavy/Light Vehicle Mechanics' Craft Studies Level 3 or as alternative Modern Apprenticeship in Vehicle studies Level 3.
You will also hold a driving license (B essential, B+E, or C, C+E preferred) and ideally have previous experience working on Land Rover and Man trucks.
