About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Project Support Lead.

You'll join an expanding PMO within Babcock's Naval Nuclear division with a collaborative team working closely with the delivery functions that provide information, analytic and decision support and IT services to our customers to enable their businesses and improve their business output.

If you are a proactive individual with good communication, organisation skills and experience of working in a project management environment looking for a permanent position in a project management team we would like to hear from you.

Digital Solutions is at a turning point whereby a large amount of growth is being forecast. Current engagements will see a high volume of project work ranging in complexity which our control function needs to be able to dynamically respond to and absorb.

As a Project Support Lead you will be responsible for enhancing the performance of the PMO by continuously maturing the services / process of the project controls function. The role will require you to facilitate project controls, metric production, quality checks and delivery of performance statistics as well as line management responsibilities.

You will liaise and work with stakeholders at all levels providing guidance and expertise in the specified field in order to deliver outputs. It will ensure that all deliverables are monitored in order to deliver the contracted requirement.

The role requires a strong individual who can hold managers to account.

What do I need to do the role?

You'll need to be Prince 2 or APM qualified, educated to degree level or hold relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience.

  • Would also like you to have experience in all of the following
  • Significant experience of project controls function and best practice application
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining governance arrangements
  • Providing effective leadership to project support teams

What else do I need to know?

  • The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
