The Project is the pathfinder and cornerstone of the National Shipbuilding Strategy and will be delivered in an innovative manner at pace with all 5 ships to be in-service by Dec 2028.

We are recruiting a Technical Documentation Manager to join our Type 31 Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Team at Bristol Business Park and support the successful delivery of the programme. • Whole Ship Documents
  • IPCs
  • Maintenance Instructions
  • Datum Pack and Registers

  • In addition, you will establish and maintain effective relationships and engagement with the Datum Pack and Configuration members of the team, to ensure alignment and correlation of effort to deliver the end product. Also, as required by the ILS Platform Lead, execute TD responsibilities and contribute to the production and development of broader supportability deliverables as defined in the T31 Design and Build contract. This will include initially supporting ILS Sub-Contract negotiation activities and contribute to Supportability and Design Reviews.

This will be a fantastic opportunity to join a team of like-minded professionals and support on our high profile project. As well as working for the UK's leading naval support business, we will also provide you with all the training, support and benefits that you would expect from a global company.

What do I need to do the role?

Ideally, you will be a Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer working towards Chartered status. Also, you will be familiar with warship systems, equipment and Datum Packs

You will have experience of the ILS function and Technical Documentation in a defence environment, ideally naval. You will have experience with Integrated Electronic Technical Documentation/Manuals and an understanding of S1000D Data Modules. Also, a working understanding of appropriate ILS Defence Standards including 00-600, JSP 543and ASD-Series of ILS specifications. You will have the ability to work in a complex, multi-discipline team and will have strong verbal communication skills.

What else do I need to know?
You will work 36 hours per week Monday to Friday with flexible working and you must be able to achieve the appropriate level of Security Clearance. Please be aware, this is not a Manager's position but the management of Type 31 technical documentation.
