An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global FMCG company, our client is currently looking for a Quality Lab Technician based at their manufacturing facility in Reading RG2 0QE, Berkshire. This is a full-time temporary role, working 12 hour shifts (as below). This role is paying £13.89 per hour the equivalent to £27085.50 PAYE per annum, pro rata.

37.5 hours per week on a Rotating Shift Pattern: 12 hours rotational shifts (same as the plant techs - so Sunday night shift through to Friday day with days and nights required from 0630-1830 on days & 1830-0630 on nights). 3 week rotation of 3 nights, 3 days the following week and then spilt shifts on 3rd week of 2 nights and 2 days. There may also be opportunity for overtime.

This site remains open for business through the Covid 19 Virus because the products manufactured here are essential.

The Chemistry and Microbiology laboratories play a deeply important function within our manufacturing facility where we produce the whole range of Gillette shaving preps. Technicians have a meaningful role analysing raw materials, intermediates as well as finished product to demonstrate quality compliance and allow release of finished product. On a day to day level, this involves sampling, testing, calibration, and data analysis. But you'll also have wider responsibilities.

  • You'll have analytical chemistry skills or experience within an analytical laboratory setting, and/or knowledge of microbiology (to include aseptic techniques, organism isolation and identification, manufacturing equipment clean design, bio safety, and microbiology lab operations.

  • Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

    You'll have a degree in Microbiology or Chemistry, although we would consider a general science qualification with lab experience in a manufacturing setting.
