Job Details

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Executive (Insights & Performance) to join our client, a leading global FMCG company with Brands such as Dove, Knorr, Persil & Magnum, based at their prestigious facility in Blackfriars, London (to work from home until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted). This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 12 months, working a 36.25-hour week, to start ASAP. This role is paying between £32,800-£35,000, pro rata per annum, depending on experience. Some occasional travel to Kingston-upon-Thames may be required (once COVID-19 restrictions are lifted).

Role Overview

The ambition of the global content team is to source, curate, create and distribute world-class digital global content which shapes the business' reputation as the leading purpose-led, future-fit business and grows employee advocacy.

The Global Content Team:

  • Is always experimenting and transforming the business content in the context of the connected world and rapid changes in the external landscape.
  • Acts as a central team but is deeply connected to Global Media Relations, External Engagement, Employee Engagement, Employer Brand and External Channels teams
  • Creates global content packages, to be deployed across our digital ecosystem, including by market channels, our leaders and employee advocacy
  • Works in partnership with our divisions and markets to build a powerful and effective storytelling community that harnesses our global reach and audiences
  • Leverages insight to develop engaging creative content which speaks to our audiences' interests, enabling them to create change too
  • Expertly engages with our target audiences across global social media channels, participating in courageous two-way dialogue on relevant societal issues
  • Runs like a newsroom, engaging with what our audiences care about that day
  • Contributes to the digital capability of our markets by sharing up-to-the-minute knowledge and insight about how our key social channels work and new storytelling formats

Key Responsibilities

Insights

  • Simply, be the source of robust and timely insights on our audiences and the performance of our content in order to inform our content and channel strategies
  • Translate insights into actions, ensuring the business' messages are delivered in ways which resonate and drive engagement with our audiences
  • Run audience insight meetings, understanding the daily focus of our audiences and creating and sharing content accordingly.

Social Media

  • Develop integrated paid social media strategies and manage external partners to ensure we reach our desired audiences with tailored content
  • Support the management of the global social channels, including content production, publishing and scheduling
  • Grow our collaborations with market teams to drive tailored paid content across market channels, ensuring best social media practice and driving engagement as a key metric

Performance and Analytics

  • Continually measure the success of our content (paid and organic) and present learnings back to the team, creating a loop to optimise content and influence creative
  • Lead on compiling concise reports, including campaign-centric, channel-centric, story-centric and ad-hoc reports

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience of planning and executing paid and organic social media strategies and campaigns, including the content itself
  • Proven experience analysing complex data sets and presenting this in an engaging way for various stakeholders
  • Proven experience in managing online agencies, from briefing to execution
  • Ability to work effectively with a range of colleagues from right across the organisation
  • Ability to think strategically, execute flawlessly
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Understanding of SEO, the social landscape, and using paid to support campaigns
  • Repurposing content for different mediums including social media and video
  • A creative mind with the ability to conceive interesting ideas for new content
  • Excellent understanding of content strategy and development
  • Ability to develop relationships and the necessary influencing skills to make the most out of these relationships
  • Agencies/freelancer management
  • Brief writing
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Exceptional communication skills in written and spoken English

Desirable:

  • Experience in the creation of content for corporate communications channels
  • Experience in content creation for social media channels
  • Previous experience working in social media or agency would be an advantage
  • Proven experience managing freelance writers/journalists/content providers
