An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Trained Multi skilled Technician to join a global business based here in the North East.

Our client provides mechanical, hydraulic and electrical engineering expertise to the Subsea and Oil & Gas markets through the design and build of bespoke systems for the laying of subsea cables and umbillcals.

Working within a multi-disciplined team the purpose of this role is to interpret and work to engineering drawings Inspect, assemble, test and assist in commissioning of hydraulic and electrical systems as identified by Project Lead.

Roles and Resonsibilities

Installation of key hydraulic, mechanical and electrical components during build and assembly.

Checking parts for suitability against drawings.

Assembly of hydraulic and electrical systems for specific contracts.

Liaising with the Project Lead to ensure all parts are available for build.

Carry out controlled testing of systems to test procedures - including documenting results.

Under instruction from the Project Lead modify and upgrade hydraulic and electrical equipment as necessary and ensure drawings are marked up for subsequent revision.

Initial snagging of a new build / serviced piece of hire kit.

Carry out pre commissioning checks of any hydraulic and electrical system.

Under instruction from the Project Lead Commissioning of projects.

Inspect and test equipment to FAT procedures and documenting results.

Be responsible for specific inspection, build, test documentation to hand over to Manager to update project.

Work offshore as a cable operator and supervise customers operating kit.

Job scope will include but not be limited to the above. At certain times the work and working hours will vary dependent upon specific project requirements as advised by your Line Manager. The role may involve national and international travel.

To be considered for this role you will

  • Be apprentice trained and have worked within a similar environment
  • Have a proven track record in this industry and be able to demonstrate that you have previous experience working on Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical Projects. (Essential)
  • Be able to read and interpret Engineering Drawings
