About the Role
Due to an internal promotion we are seeking to recruit a Business Analyst to join the team based at our offices in Keynsham, near Bristol. As a Business Analyst you'll work within Babcock Digital Solutions within the Engineering Services division of Babcock Naval Marine.

Babcock Naval Marine are a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy delivering through life engineering support of the Royal Navy's critical and complex maritime assets ranging from managed inventories of types of equipment up to whole ships and nuclear submarines. Our business is to provide the engineering assurance, information management and business solutions that keep the Royal Navy at sea.

You'll work as part of the Digital Solutions team, under the mentorship of a senior BA, providing Business and Systems Analysis to the MOD and our industry partners.

You'll be responsible for delivering collaborative solutions for use by the entire UK defence maritime enterprise, including the customer and other industry participants. The products span the solution space from database applications through to big data and analytics.

You'll use appropriate analytical tools and techniques to investigate and analyse business problems and new system capability requirements, your primary objective being to help the business implement technology solutions in a cost effective way.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll be educated to degree level in an IT related discipline or have relevant experience in a junior BA role.

We would also like you to have the following experience:
*Mapping 'AS-IS' and 'TO-BE' business process models to drive efficiency by elimination of non value-add activity
*Business modelling
*Detailed requirements capture and requirements management
*Waterfall and/or Agile software delivery projects including writing user stories, acceptance criteria, personas et al
*Working on small/medium scale projects
*Product owner experience beneficial
*Working with business process management software (BPMS) beneficial


Lastly, you'll need to be personable and professional with strong, clear communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, including customers, developers and business partners.

What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. You must be a sole UK national and hold or be capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
