An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our Global FMCG Client, the powerhouse behind Persil, Comfort, Surf and Ben & PG Tips, are currently seeking a Technology & Innovation Projects Manager, based at their Trafford Park site. This is a full-time temporary role for 6 months, 37.5 hour week, paying £37,000 - £40,000 per annum pro rata, plus an additional £5,159 per annum, pro rata, payment to allow for the requirement of overseeing contracts and workers outside of normal working hours.

Please note that this flexible payment is paid regardless of whether required or not worked.

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our famous PG Tips site and become part of a brand-driven team in the Trafford Park Unilever factory. Our site has just gone through an exciting expansion with the insourcing of Pukka teas, growing both our volume and our diversity in the teas market We are seeking a Technology & Innovations Project Manager to be the factorys principal point of contact for product, process and equipment implementations and modifications. You will be responsible for the factory implementation of new innovations, product roll outs and recipe changes within an agreed time plan. You will be absolutely key to the effective delivery of any changes across the factory production plan. You will also be responsible for the creation and implementation of new projects around site improvements including machine upgrades, infrastructure maintenance and site machinery safety implementation

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the communication link between the factory and Regional / Global Distribution Centers
  • Provide first point of contact and interface to Project Development Managers
  • End to end responsible for the On Time, In Full, implementation of new products and changes to products (innovations, refreshment, VIP and projects) for the factory
  • Ensure that appropriate training is available to the relevant factory colleagues for new or modified equipment
  • Responsible for early product management which includes Quality Assurance, product safety, planning and data co-ordination.
  • Provide feedback on performance and improvements of core design to wider design and product teams
  • Lead site sponsored trials and supports R&D led trials.
  • Management of sub-contractors and contractor control.
  • Lead site machinery safety program
  • Manage T&I and projects team providing support and guidance.

Requirements:

  • Background in engineering with project management experience. Engineering background in fast moving environment pharmaceuticals/chemicals preferable.
  • Able to demonstrate effective project management skills and possess a successful record of delivering factory wide projects
  • Project management experience (running projects and how to manage the team). Supporting the team in what they do and managing the department.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills and are comfortable working with colleagues at all levels across the organization
  • Ability to pick up new systems easily Microsoft Projects experience beneficial
  • Ability to work flexibly when required for example the successful applicant may have to attend site outside of normal working ours to oversee contractors as part of the project, hence the flex working payment.
