About the role
We're looking for a HR Recruitment Officer for a 12 months fixed term contract to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security. The Shared Services team is responsible for supporting the HR requirements of the business. The Recruitment team within shared services completes a wide variety of HR Recruitment tasks to support the wider Business. You will provide support to the wider business for a number of HR Recruitment tasks in line with agreed standards and timescales.

Using your experience you will be typing letters/reports, photocopying, Right to Work checks. As well as distributing incoming and outgoing mail while taking telephone calls and emails. You will be liaising with hiring managers and receive and direct visitors and clients.
As the HR Recruitment Officer you will be supporting recruitment on boarding process - checking security documents, ensuring fit for employment and collating Sterling Back Check reports.

What do I need to do the role?
You will be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Administration or equivalent experience and educated to GCSE level including English and Mathematic.
We would also like you to have experience in the following areas:
* Communication skills - written and verbal
* Attention to detail and accuracy
* Flexibility
* Customer focus
* Teamwork
* Experience in HR databases, MS Excel & Word
* Experience in HR Recruitment

What else do I need to know?
* The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
