An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading utilities supplier as a Senior Operations Manager, our client is currently seeking a Senior Operations Manager, home base for the role is in Chesterton ST5 9JQ, Staffordshire, but the role will be regionally based responsible for up to 10 tools stores/depots for Cadent Gas engineers. This a 40 hour per week, Monday to Friday, full-time temporary contract for approx. 5 months. All expenses can be claimed for travel and the role will be paying £21.70 per hour which is the equivalent to £ 45K per annum. Full Driving license and own vehicle essential.

Summary

Day to day operational responsibility for the Cadent Gas Secondary Stores at circa 10 Secondary Stores locations. Job holder will have line management responsibility for circa 2 Site Controllers. Operationally responsible for customer relationship management, management of costs and maintaining / exceeding H&S targets and service levels.

To maximise the performance of the operation by directing the daily, weekly and monthly activities, providing leadership, motivation, training and development of the workforce, executing against customer requirements and operational performance.

Key Accountabilities

  • Actively demonstrate and promote the Cadent values and positively contribute to a customer-oriented approach
  • Management of remote team members spread over a broad geography
  • Ability to maintain excellent communication with team and all key stakeholders
  • Work within and promote the philosophy of safe team working
  • Interpretation and management of operation MI and weekly reports
  • Completion of scheduled work
  • Relationship Management
  • Management of operational continuous improvements projects
  • Day to day management of regional stores at 5 - 10 operating locations.
  • Demonstrate Active Leadership and support staff working at remote locations
  • Responsibility for all issues relating to Health & Safety and the Environment
  • Support site staff through excellent communication active leadership
  • Responsibility for managing Secondary costs, input to contract Budget process and achieving of financial targets
  • Budget management for region
  • Deliver consistent service levels seeking to exceed customer expectation
  • Effective leadership management and communication of/with remote operational teams
  • Responsibility for excellent standards of health and safety culture and behaviours
  • Maintain licence compliance for deports with associated transport
  • Display can do attitude to enhance motivation of team

Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience of developing teams through objective setting and reviews
  • Previous involvement with project delivery
  • Experience of setting and / or working to KPIs
  • People Management - PDPs, performance management, disciplinary etc
  • Planning resources to effectively meet operational demands
  • 5 years logistics industry experience
  • 3-5 years managing and leading teams
