Our client a leading Paint and Coatings Manufacturer have an exciting opportunity for a Logistics Improvement Manager. The successful applicant will manage projects to review, define and improve the operational cost and processes that drive and impact the Logistics function in all UK & Ireland Paints and Coatings. Working within a small team and internal and external partners you will recommend and improve control processes. This is initially a home-based role, job role based in Felling, in the long term there will be travel to 3 UK distribution sites and possibly Northern Europe.

  • Fully understand logistics cost drivers, define and implement improvement projects
  • Define, Measure, Analyse, Improve and Control processes and procures critical to logistics
  • Lead the deployment and progression of lean principals with internal and external partners
  • Support execution and implementation of corporate logistics projects as required
  • Maintain full oversight and stewardship of current logistics cost improvement projects

The ideal candidate will have strong experience working within the logistics environment. Proven logistics cost saving background, identification and delivery of projects. Engagement and influencing skills with internal and external parties. Continuous improvement theoretical understanding and implementation experience. Experience of Continuous Improvement success within a process industry. Excellent organisational, data management and analytical skills. Proven project management background. Strong ability to obtain project input and promote support from many different stakeholders.

  • Flexible ability to handle multiple and complex tasks
  • Clear and confident communicator at all levels and the ability to engage and influence
  • Analytical but able to theorize. Creative and Innovative

Education:

  • Professionally qualified or working towards a relevant vocational qualification preferred
  • Degree level education
  • Excel and PowerPoint presentation skills - to advanced level
  • Access, VBA, Word, Outlook, SAP - to intermediate level
  • Full UK driving license
