Our client, one of the UK's leading energy providers, is looking for a Document Author to support the Pre-Operations team in the development of the Operational Documentation in Bridgwater. The Document Author shall be responsible for assisting in the production of operational documentation, through all stages of the documents lifecycle.
This role is based within the Operational Capability programme which is a part of the HPC project. The role of the Pre-Operations function is to ensure that the future operating organisation, including people, working arrangements, equipment, facilities and documents are ready for when HPC starts generating electricity.
Please note that this role is offered as a long-term temporary opportunity through Manpower.
Main Responsibilities:
*Writing, editing and proofreading text.
*Collating and verifying information.
*Copying text from multiple sources into a single document.
*Creating and editing pictures and diagrams.
*Using a variety of software applications to present the information.
*Work with translator services.
*Check written documents to ensure compliance with writer's guide and if multiple levels of Quality checks are needed.
The Document Author will not have any direct reports and will not manage a budget.
Knowledge & Skills Required:
Essential
- Experience in the preparation and formatting of documents, containing a blend of media for example; text, diagrams, image tables, etc.
- Experience using Word, Excel and Visio
- Knowledge of Error reduction techniques
- Ability to work as a self-motivated and proactive individual
Desirable
- Knowledge of Information Security Classification
- Knowledge of Information Security Management
- Ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience Required:
Essential
- Experience using human performance error prevention tools.
- Experience of document and record management
Desirable
- Experience of working within a Management System
- Experience of working within a project organisation
- A conversational level of the French language
