Traffic Safety and Control Officer (TSCO)

Manpower are offering new opportunities working with the UKs Leading Traffic Management Company. Working either self-employed or as a limited company you will work alongside others who have a passion for TM and delivering a great service on UK roads. This role supports opportunity for progression within the industry.

Within this role you will be responsible for the planning and controlling of the works, as well as emergency planning and liaison with the relevant departments. You will be responsible for the safe movement of traffic around planned roadworks, construction projects or incidents on highspeed roads.

Communication skills are essential in this role to manage your team, deliver start of shift briefings and oversee all activity on site. You will also be liaising with the Operations Manager regularly regarding the sites TTM. You must be hard working, reliable and flexible in your approach to work. Decision making and careful planning will be required when implementing new traffic management systems and well as the management of day to day operations and maintenance. Health and Safety must always be maintained and upheld in accordance to company policy and your TM qualifications. You will be accountable for reporting on all incidents or breakdowns, they must be handled immediately, and all relevant documentation updated thoroughly.

Essential qualifications/attributes:

  • Valid 12A TSCO Lantra card
  • Full UK licence with 6 points or less
  • Ability to pass safety critical worker medical

Desirable qualifications/attributes:

  • 2 years' experience in TM
  • 12AB Forman qualification
  • 12D M7 qualification
  • First Aid at Work

This role is full time. Shifts will require you to be flexible to work days, nights and weekends. There may also be opportunities for overtime. It may require infrequent travel to join teams across our other UK operations. To be successful in this role you must pass a drug and alcohol test prior to commencement and throughout your employment.
