About the role

To carry out transactional HR activity on HR Administrative processes, and respond to enquiries in accordance with legislation, suggested best practice and Babcock procedures and guidelines.

Responsibilities:

* Initiate security clearance process for all relevant new employees.
* Monitor employee records, to ensure appropriate clearances are renewed prior to expiry.
* Request references for all new employees.
* Collate and check all new starter information, relevant to each role, including; health questionnaires, healthcare, referencing, security and driving licence checks.
* Prepare and issue new starter contracts and offer packs.
* Chase for missing or incomplete information where necessary.
* Update and maintain accuracy of records on relevant HR systems.
* Ensure all employee information is processed accurately and is checked in accordance with the relevant processes.
* Respond to HR administrative queries from; line managers, HRBPs, employees and candidates as appropriate, e.g. via email, telephone, written correspondence or face to face.
* Process all requests effectively, accurately and efficiently and in accordance with procedures.
* Maintain accurate systems information within scope of role and in line with current GDPR legislation.
* Maintain all SLAs, deadlines, promises and action plans communicated to management, customers or required by process.
* Provide basic information on policies and procedures to line managers, employees and HR Advisors.
* Refer queries to the Team Manager, if escalation is required.
* Protecting assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference.
* Any other HR related duties at request of Team Manager and Head of HRTH SSC.

Key Outputs/Deliverables:

* Issue Contracts and Offer Packs within SLA, and in line with relevant legislation.
* Process and monitor security clearance for relevant employees.
* All HR actions approved in line with issued authority list, procedures and guidelines.

What do I need to do the role?

Qualifications:

* GCSE Maths & English
* CIPD (not essential)

Key Technical Competencies:

* Sound administrative skills
* Good verbal & written communication skills
* Proficient in Excel and Word
* Excellent attention to detail
* Experience of HR databases
* Awareness of HR policy & procedures
* Previous customer service experience
* Understanding of GDPR legislation as it affects the role

Key Behavioural Competencies:

* Discrete & confidential approach
* Polite and approachable manner
* Team player
* Ability to multi task and prioritise own workload
* Sound organisational skills
* Ability to assimilate information and identify actions, taking them forward appropriately

This role is based in Lakeside, Portsmouth. A vibrant and accessible campus that has shops, restaurants, hairdressers and a nursery on site. It has parking for employees and runs a free shuttle bus from city centre trains and bus stops.
