The role

As an Estimator you'll play a key role in providing the means to grow our EC&I business for Contracting in the UK.

You'll be responsible for developing cost models/plans, submitting accurate estimates and managing bids for design and build projects, including large and more complex major schemes. You'll be responsible for developing and delivering effective and competitive quotations for new works requests as identified by the sales team. Daily responsibilities will include estimating costs, prices and producing quotations for customers in both the public and private sectors, ensuring both business and customer needs are met fully. On larger project bids, you may also be required to co-ordinate and lead a team to ensure bid completion to schedule and standards.

What do I need?

You'll have excellent knowledge of cabling & instrumentation and the EC&I supply chain. You'll equally be well versed in mechanical & electrical engineering. With good commercial acumen you'll have experience of contractual requirements and terms & conditions. You will have a thorough understanding of technical drawings and requirements to complete works. You will be able to 'take off' quantities from drawings or bills of quantities and prepare schedules of rates. A good knowledge of key contracts and customers within the EC&I sector would be beneficial.

You will also have completed a relevant qualification from level of BTEC (or equivalent) and have strong IT skills, particularly in MS Excel.
