**This role is for BCU Students only**

We are looking to recruit a current Birmingham City University student to play a key part in delivering our video content plan for our YouTube channel and for marketing campaigns. You will specifically be involved in the creation, ordering of, and editing of video content - mainly vlogs and self-shot content from other students.

We are looking for a student with experience of editing with Adobe Premiere Pro who may be interested in developing their skills in a marketing and a corporate environment. It would be likely the candidate would be enrolled on a related course contained in the university's faculties of ADM or CEBE, however this position is open to all students that have skills in filming or post-production.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To edit supplied user generated content in accordance with specific guidelines.
  • Assist the department with an ongoing audit of online video content, namely the university YouTube channel.
  • To edit and archive collected campus footage so that it may be easily accessed by the department or other content creators.
  • To audit, maintain and implement an orderly arrangement for current camera and filming equipment storage.
  • To assist when requested with other video projects, filming on location and post-production.
  • You may also have the opportunity to support with collecting B-roll video footage of the campus, if you are also skilled in filming and operating a camera. Following a specific brief, this will be a mixture of both mid to high end video footage.

Person Specification

  • Able to follow a brief and editing/brand guidelines
  • Creative, and able to suggest new and innovative approaches to video edits
  • A reasonable working knowledge of the full workflow of using Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Reliable and committed.
  • Happy to be mentored but able to demonstrate initiative.
  • It would also be beneficial if you have confident and tidy camera skills for B roll collection, but not essential.

This is a great opportunity for a student that wishes to gain experience with an ambitious and innovative content team in a marketing environment. As a department we are able to provide mentoring and will fully articulate ideas and requirements for the student in place. Though a degree of commitment is needed, we are fully mindful and supportive as to how this post needs to be flexible around current studies. Please note that it would be currently essential to have access to your own laptop/computer and editing software.

Please apply with your CV only then I will send you a separate email where you will need to send any links to videos you have edited that you feel demonstrates your ability. Accompanying this, please also provide a paragraph of personal statement as to why you feel you are suitable for this role. Deadline for applications March 22.
