About this role:
Here at Babcock International we are currently recruiting for an experienced resource planner to join our Babcock Marine Clyde business in Faslane to provide senior level resource planning and forecasting in support of our programme portfolio to ensure availability of suitably qualified and experienced resource to our Estates Delivery function.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and management of a team of Resource Co-ordinators and Senior Specialists to review and provide resource (including SQEP internal resource, sub-contractors and equipment) to the Estates Delivery function, maximising resource utilisation to meet the demand of the overall estate programme (Forward Maintenance Programme and the Forward New Works Programme).

Key Responsibilities will include:
Agree departmental objectives with the Head of Estates Delivery and managing these through to successful completion.

Work with Delivery and Planning Managers to level the Estates Delivery workload and develop the demand profiles for internal resources and external subcontractors to meet workload demand and budget requirements.

Review resource loading across the asset works programme, anticipating future resourcing requirements and developing appropriate strategies to meet them.

Develop resource plans to manage the allocation of internal resources to activities based on analysis of their skills, experience and future development.

Use the Integrated Business Planning Process to develop a long term strategic workforce plan, identify capacity and capability risks and design solutions to mitigate these and ensure the viability of future resource supply.

Manage absence, performance, leave, learning & development and training records of the Resource Co-ordinators and Engineering Managers for which they are responsible.

Develop and maintain enhanced relationships with customers, key stakeholders and Trade Union personnel, to support contract delivery.

Lead activities to build an engaged and high-performing workforce, driving positive behaviours and culture in line with Company values.

Promote a safety culture and compliance with all company Health, Safety and Environmental legislation in line with ISO standards.

Participate in local performance reviews and cross-Division/Industry benchmarking for engineering compliance, developing and implementing plans to achieve exemplar practice.

What do I need to do the role?
* Proven experience in a resource deployment and utilisation role, ideally from a programme environment but will consider candidates with experience of provision of technical resources
* Comprehensive knowledge and experience of all aspects of people management, particularly performance management; and resource management and allocation in a project set up, in terms of the balance between resource smoothing and resource levelling.
* The post holder must have exceptional organisation and communication skills.
* Proven team management experience
* Knowledge Resource Planning tools and systems

What else do I need to know?
This role will be based at HMNB Clyde nr Helensburgh
Due to the nature of this site all applicants must be able to gain and maintain UK SC level security clearance.
