Established from humble beginnings, over 20 years ago, my client has evolved into becoming one of the UK's leading steel fabricators, specialising in providing a 'first class' service to the quarrying and aggregates sector. Their 'one stop shop' covers all aspects of design, fabrication, installation and repairs and since their launch, they have developed their workforce to a team of over 100 professionals.

Due to a bursting orderbook and further, strategic expansion, an opportunity has now arisen for a Design Engineer to join their team and benefit from an excellent company culture and a management team that always recognise and reward hard efforts. For this role, we are looking for an experienced Design Engineer, who will ideally come from a background in portal frame buildings or the quarrying and aggregates sector. This is an exciting role with full autonomy, where you will take full ownership of the design of your own projects and be on hand to iron out any problems in the workshop. Experience of working with SolidWorks would be utopia.

The key responsibilities of this role are as follows:

• To progress designs to a stage ready for fabrication drawings and to order parts.
• To produce fabrication drawings for the designs.
• To liaise with different departments in the company to ensure all the correct parts are ordered and the workshop have the correct fabrication drawings.
• To work closely with fabricators to help with any drawing queries
• To check the quality of the build.

In return, my client is offering a competitive remuneration package of £30,000 - £40,000 for a 40 hour week, along with company pension and 28 days holiday per year.
