Transport planner

My Client is currently looking for 2 Transport Planning Technicians to support their busy site based within Peterborough.

These roles will be temporary initially with the view to a permanent contract after a probationary period.

The role:

To work within the planning team consisting of a team of planners, Liaise effectively with customers,

drivers and other associated departments to ensure efficient on time processing of deliveries.

Your key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:

 Distribute products within customer time frame

 Methodical and cost effective planning of own fleet vehicles

 Liaise with other planners to optimise earnings and reduce expenditure

 Ensure fleet operate within WTD and current EU regulations

 Work closely with drivers to achieve business objectives

 Monitor driver activity throughout day and react

 General office duties to ensure smooth running of a busy department

 Provide statistical information in terms of vehicle earnings and hours worked.

 Maintain and improve existing links with external fleet managers

 Ensure fleet compliance criteria are met

 Additional duties as requested by your line manager

Requirements of the role:

 Knowledge of transport legislation

 Experience within a transport planning office desirable

 Strong computer literacy and skills

 Ability to prioritise and make decisions, as well as problem solve

 Good communicator and team player at all levels

 Flexible and committed approach and the ability to work rotating shifts
