My Client is currently looking for 2 Transport Planning Technicians to support their busy site based within Peterborough.
These roles will be temporary initially with the view to a permanent contract after a probationary period.
To work within the planning team consisting of a team of planners, Liaise effectively with customers,
drivers and other associated departments to ensure efficient on time processing of deliveries.
Your key accountabilities will include but are not limited to:
Distribute products within customer time frame
Methodical and cost effective planning of own fleet vehicles
Liaise with other planners to optimise earnings and reduce expenditure
Ensure fleet operate within WTD and current EU regulations
Work closely with drivers to achieve business objectives
Monitor driver activity throughout day and react
General office duties to ensure smooth running of a busy department
Provide statistical information in terms of vehicle earnings and hours worked.
Maintain and improve existing links with external fleet managers
Ensure fleet compliance criteria are met
Additional duties as requested by your line manager
Requirements of the role:
Knowledge of transport legislation
Experience within a transport planning office desirable
Strong computer literacy and skills
Ability to prioritise and make decisions, as well as problem solve
Good communicator and team player at all levels
Flexible and committed approach and the ability to work rotating shifts
