A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a number of Commissioning Engineers - Fire to work full time at our client's site in Cambridge. 7-month contract starting in June through to middle of December 2021. 45hour working week, 7am - 5pm Paying £284 per day (based on 9 hour day) PAYE

**All candidates to be successful will be completion of our clients vetting scheme and an internal Drug & Alcohol test**

Reporting to the Commissioning Manager, the Commissioning Engineer will have the primary responsibility to safely verify the installation documentation, commission, document, handover and demonstrate the system to the project and regulatory requirements

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance to all Health and Safety requirements to complete all tasks in a safe manner for yourself, your team and everyone on site
  • Test and review that the installation is correct, with all cables identified and tested in accordance with the installation QA checks, so that the system is ready for commissioning
  • Commission the system in compliance with the approved Method Statement and complete the documentation
  • Daily reports to be submitted at the end of each shift to the Commissioning Manager
  • Demonstrate to the Client & Commissioning Team that the system is complete before handover

  • Action Air Fire Damper system

The Commissioning Engineer should be able to demonstrate;

  • A safety culture
  • A drive for quality
  • An ability to operate as part of a team
  • Great communication skills
  • An exceptional understanding of British Standards BS5839
  • A history of successful commissioning
  • Great product knowledge
  • An in-depth understanding of fault finding
  • Gent Vigilon Engineers number

A working knowledge of

  • A Networked Fire Alarm system
  • Public Address/Voice Alarm systems
  • Aspiration systems
  • Emergency Voice Communication systems
  • Fire Damper systems
  • Induction Loop systems
  • An understanding of ATEX areas.
