About the role:
Here at Cavendish Nuclear we are currently recruiting for experienced Mechanical Engineers to join our existing team at Dungeness Nuclear Power Station to assist in the delivery of our mechanical engineering programme of works, either to be based locally in Kent, or willing to travel and stay locally for your weekly shifts from elsewhere in the UK.

We carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a variety of mechanical plant and systems at Dungeness and other EDF Nuclear Stations throughout the UK, to support the delivery of this work we are looking to add additional members to our Mechanical Engineering team.

This is a shift based role with alternating weekly patterns - Monday - Thursday and then Tuesday - Friday, working 9.5 hour day shifts - we can consider locally based Mechanical Engineers, or happy to also consider mobile workers who are willing to travel and stay locally - travel and subsistence will be covered.

Principal Tasks and Responsibilities:
* Assist the Site Manager and PM with works planning.
* Senior Engineers will delegate packages to and be responsible for Engineers when applicable
* Review of designs to plan installation works.
* Carry out Risk Assessments.
* Write method statements and quality plans.
* Manage the approval of work packages.
* Brief working parties (inc. Subcontractors).
* Ensure and drive progress, quality and safety during works.
* Manage inspections during works.
* Close out work packages.

What do I need to do the role?

Academic Requirements
Minimum Level 4 or 5 Qualification (e.g. HNC/HND) - or equivalent in an appropriate Mechanical Engineering discipline where augmented with specific experience or carrying out maintenance, commissioning or installation of mechanical plant and systems.

Experience requirements
Proven experience in carrying out mechanical maintenance, installation or continuous improvement tasks on heavy plant and systems within a high hazard industry ideally Nuclear experience but will consider Rail, Oil & Gas, Defence, Power, Renewables etc

Used to work to health and safety standards and practices

Must be eligible to gain and maintain UK CTC level security clearance

If a mobile worker must be able to commit to travel for the 4 day weekly shift pattern to Dungeness

What else do I need to know?
All applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK and be subject to satisfactory security clearance which includes 3 years reference checks. Verification of any qualifications/passport/licences must be shown at interview stage.
