Energy Systems Project Manager - Hydrogen Design & Trial - Milford Haven

Manpower are working in partnership with a UK leader in Offshore Renewable Energy to find their next Project Manager to be based within our Research & Disruptive Innovation Directorate.

This role will lead on the project management delivery of the Milford Haven Energy Kingdom (MH:EK) project; designing and trialling integrated local markets for hydrogen, paving the way for the national energy infrastructure along Milford Haven waterway to transition to a renewables / hydrogen sustainable energy future.

The Role

As Project Manager, you'll manage strict timelines, managing health, safety, risk and quality whilst balancing with the proper management of designated capital and associated budgets. You will ensure that relevant project information is available and correct, enabling timely and accurate reporting of project performance across the directorate.

The successful candidate will be pivotal in ensuring that this £4m project is delivered within the timescales, budget and financial constraints, and remains in compliance with funding and procurement rules. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the helm of one of the UK's flagship energy systems projects.

The Person

The successful candidate must have the following qualifications, experience, skills and attributes

  • A degree in a relevant technical discipline
  • A recognised project management qualification
  • At least five years' proven project management experience - Energy, Utilities or Construction

A proven track record in the following areas is essential

  • A demonstrable track record of leading multi-disciplinary project or programme teams
  • Experience of negotiating and managing contracts
  • Awareness of occupational Health & Safety issues

Good knowledge in one or more of the following areas is desirable:

  • Chartered status in a technical discipline (Desirable)
  • Experience of publicly funded projects and public procurement rules (Desirable)

In return for the Senior Control Systems Engineer role, an excellent remuneration package is offered which includes attractive basic salary, pension, bonus, and subsidised health care saving scheme as listed below.

  • Salary based upon 37.5 hour working week although hours to be worked to fulfil requirements of the role.
