Warehouse Manager
Salary: £13ph / £27,000 per annum + 25 days holiday & bank holidays
Type: Full time, permanent
Hours: 40 hours a week, 5 days per week, start time 07.00am, overtime/weekend working available as per business needs
Location: Ashford, own transport required due to client location
Manpower UK are currently looking for a Warehouse Manager to join a leading fresh produce and confectionery business. This will be a fast-paced role that is ideal for someone who has previous experience of working in a production environment or facility.
The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for the management of the stores staff, storage and receipt of raw materials, despatch of finished products. This will be a hands-on role.
Other responsibilities include:
- Maintaining all storage areas over two sites in good, clean, and tidy condition, they include: dry stores, chill stores (incoming and outgoing products) and cold stores
- Maintaining forklift trucks in good condition, with appropriate daily maintenance checks, in accordance with the suppliers recommended schedules
- Maintaining correct storage for all raw materials including organic and all allergen products by segregation to prevent any cross contamination, plus manage and maintain strict stock rotation
- Completion of vehicle collection checks and paperwork
- Ensure picking of orders and loading/unloading of vehicles are executed to deadlines and ensure all documentation of incoming raw materials is recorded for trace-ability and intake checks
- Control inspection of all raw materials and packaging before release to production
- Segregation into quarantine areas for non-conforming materials as directed by Technical Dept
- Managing all customer despatches of finished product
- Control of movements in the yards and housekeeping of the areas
- Ensure optimum utilisation of labour by effective planning and development of all staff
The ideal person:
- Experience of food manufacturing logistics and distribution preferable

- Energy, enthusiasm, commitment, and a can-do flexible attitude
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written, with the ability to deliver direction and motivation in an effective manner
