Fixed Term Contract - 1 Year

About the role

Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Warehouse Optimisation Lead to join the term on a fixed term contract for one year.

You will be required to conduct a review and deliver optimisation across all DSG Warehouses in the UK; working closely with Supply Chain, Forecast & Planning and the MoD customer.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Work closely with the SAP development team when identifying and planning in future maintenance and system developments
  • Drive an efficient kitting process by ensuring better utilization of the vertical storage systems.
  • Implement a robust warehouse scheduling process that allows the team to look ahead at manufacturing and spares requirements and resolve issues before they impact operations.
  • Implement a longer range capacity planning model to ensure supply of labour and equipment equals demand
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Materials teams to improve material presentation to the production areas, strive for new ideas and solutions.

This is a high profile strategic role for DSG where you will have the ability to make some significant changes to the business.

What do I need to do the role?

You will have previous Warehouse Management experience at a strategic level, and experience in identifying and implementing improvement activities.

You will have a good knowledge of SAP/Warehouse Management systems.

You will also possess strong stakeholder management skills, and are tenacious with the ability to communicate at all levels.

Knowledge of Defence Supply Chain would be useful, as would an automotive background.

What else do I need to know?

You must be willing to travel to other sites as required. There will also be some home working involved.
