An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our client Leading Global FMCG company with Brands such as Bed Head, Toni and Guy, VO5 & Brylcreem are currently looking for a Senior Brand Activation Manager based at their prestigious facility in Battersea (SW11 4NP). This is a full-time temporary role for a period of 12 months (Maternity Cover), working a 37.5-hour week to start ASAP. This role is paying between £57,600-£72,000 per annum, pro rata, depending on experience.

Your Role & Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a senior brand and communication expert to lead the hair brand team for the UK and Ireland Elida Beauty business. This role requires working with multiple partners, along with functions across the wider team.

Exciting and fast-paced, this will be a busy and dynamic environment where you will be expected to work collectively with teams across the business to unlock the power of our brands for both consumers and the customer. This is a wide encompassing role that spans the full marketing spectrum, with the brand teams responsible for brand positioning and strategy, communication and campaign development, audience definition and media planning through to in-market activation and retailer sell in. The brand portfolio also stretches across professional haircare, mass premium and more value propositions, making it a rich but complex collection of brands. A passion for consumer understanding will be key, as we seek to lead categories with emotionally connecting communication and insightful functional product performance. This is a senior role overseeing 2 brand managers and 3 assistants, across the hair brands in the Elida Beauty portfolio, and reporting into the UK and Ireland Marketing Director. This will require the ability to take a big picture approach and to work closely with senior stakeholders to determine how Elida drives for category leadership thinking across all elements of the marketing mix. You will need to work particularly closely internally with commercial, finance, and supply chain teams as well as external agency partners to balance the need for short term growth and delivering against forecasts, with longer term strategic thinking.

Requirements

We are looking for someone with 5+ years at management level with experience across brand strategy and positioning, communication planning and execution, and activation in retail.

You must be able to demonstrate proven capability/past experience in -

  • Development of differentiated and competitive brand propositions based on real consumer understanding, with clear brand purpose.
  • Development of communication from scratch, from consumer insight through to creation and market implementation.
  • Strong working knowledge of digital landscape, tracking measures and latest media trends (although they do not necessarily need to be a technical expert).
  • Experience in planning and/or executing media strategies and plans.
  • A demonstrable understanding of how to interpret brand tracking measures and develop suitable comms plans that span across sales funnel (awareness, engagement, conversion).
  • Experience in managing teams of people to deliver across external agencies/consultants, as well as internal cross functional teams including sales, shopper marketing, finance, and supply chain.
  • The ability to manage the P&L for brand(s) with an aptitude for working on tight budgets and identifying measurement and ROI through available data points.
  • Ability to sift through large volumes of data, with an analytical mindset that can recognize trends/patterns and adjust strategy accordingly.
  • Clear understanding of the UK retail mass market, with experience linking communication planning to in-store activation and exciting the customer. This should include a commercial understanding of promotional planning, pricing, listing and shelf space, as well as innovation sell in and working to retail calendars.
