HMNB Clyde - Fleet Programmes
Faslane, Helensburgh

About the Role

We're looking for four Project Schedulers to join us at HMNB Clyde, home to the core of the UK Submarine Service, including the nation's nuclear deterrent. Partnering with the MOD and the Royal Navy, we ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them at HMNB Clyde and around the world, delivering complex submarine maintenance packages and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets that help maintain national security.

As a scheduler, you will be required to develop and manage project schedule logic to assist deliver UK Submarine maintenance projects within the required safety standards, time, cost and quality targets.

Using your previous experience, you'll provide project scheduling expertise to ensure schedules are developed and maintained within Babcock's Project Management & Planning policies. Standards will be met with quality schedules that satisfy the requirements of the business and the needs of the customer.

Main Responsibilities:
*Providing support to deliver Fleet maintenance projects within the required safety standards, time, cost and quality targets
*Provision of resource and cost loaded schedules, with inputs from project estimators, that feed the integrated Business Planning Process
*Assistance with quantitative schedule risk analysis to inform the project/programme bid process
*Assistance with maintenance of project planning templates
*Ensuring schedules meet Babcock Group's Project Management & Planning policies and standards
*Conduct resource analysis to identify resource conflicts, over allocations, opportunities or corrective actions
*Routinely update the schedule network in line with reporting requirements
*Regularly analyse schedule network and manage schedule variance and float
*Routinely produce and evaluate management information from project schedule network for Babcock management.
*Assist in the identification of scope liability between Babcock and Ships Staff
*Leading project planning and progress updates meetings
*Produce and maintain key date schedule and critical path analysis

What do I need to do the role?

You'll be educated to HNC or equivalent in a relevant project management or engineering discipline, or hold an appropriate APM qualification. This may however be formally wavered for a period depending on the level of relevant experience and specific capability.

You'll need to demonstrate a high level of organisational skills with an ability to adapt to dynamic situations and produce information and reports with minimal guidance.


*Good knowledge of APM philosophy.
*Proficient user of Microsoft Office applications, including strong Excel skills
*Proficient user of Microsoft Project
*Proficient in the use of Primavera v.19 and awareness of Primavera Risk
*An understanding of risk management and LfE and their relationship with the schedule
*Awareness of Acumen Fuse

What else do I need to know?
This role is based at HM Naval Base Clyde, located 6 miles north of Helensburgh in the West of Scotland. We are well placed for commuter links to Glasgow and the wider region, with easy access for car and public transport.
You should hold or have the ability to obtain full SC clearance
