About the role

Babcock International is one of the largest providers of support services to the emergency services sector. We manage vehicles and equipment on behalf of organisations such as London Fire Brigade, Metropolitan Police Service and the Highways Agency. And as one of our Vehicle Mechanics, you'll play a vital role in keeping their vehicles on the road and in great working order

Working as part of a team, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair and overhaul of vehicles, assemblies, electrical and general equipment including diagnostic and inspection duties. You will also be responsible for carrying out examination tasks to meet production needs subject to necessary training and proficiency.

This is an exciting position within a varied and interesting role with a good work/life balance.

What do I need to do the role?

First and foremost you'll need to be educated to Level 3 qualification (C&G, NVQ, HNC, HND) in a related Mechanical subject.

You will also have previous experience working as a Vehicle Mechanic, either from a commercial or military background.

A full UK driving licence is essential.

What else do I need to know?

Working hours are 37 per week Monday to Friday 7.45-16.15, flexi time is available, and you can accrue up to 20 hours per month extra leave.
