Special Maintenance Operative - Permanent

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Special Maintenance Operative to work in a busy and friendly team based in Winchester.

Job type: Permanent, working 37hrs per week

The role:

As a Special Maintenance Operative, you will assist with construction and maintenance work on both public and private property, as well as highways, to ensure Winchester District is safe and well presented. Part of the role includes general grounds maintenance, safety inspections, basic maintenance to sewage treatment works and the maintenance of rivers. Practical support for high profile events, responding to emergencies and acting as front line response in severe weather conditions.

Preferred but not essential:

- Driving Licence

- Experience of maintaining sewage treatment plants

- Experience of working on the highway

- Working for a local authority

Must have:

- Positive attitude

- Team player

- Flexible to support out of standard working hours from time to time
