SUPPORTING THE CURRENT AND NEXT GENERATION OF SUBMARINE - ARE YOU UP FOR THE CHALLENGE?

Babcock International, the major engineering support services company, is currently looking for a Senior Engineer for Submarine Strategic Weapon (Support) Systems (SWS/SWSS) with appropriate qualifications and experience to be based at or near Bristol.

Babcock Naval Marine - Submarine Support Engineering (SSE) business unit provides engineering management services to enable the delivery of the company's key contracted outputs to the MoD, essentially to deliver available and capable platforms for the Royal Navy.
Maritime Mission Systems contains both Strategic and Combat Systems Engineers who provide an engineering support and management service to the MoD in addition to providing organic engineering management to Babcock Marine's waterfront teams.

Main Purpose of Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced engineer, to support Babcock's contribution to the Submarine Strategic Weapon Enterprise (SWE). Key elements of the post are:

* To support the Babcock Strategic Systems Engineering Team within SSE.
* To support contracted tasking from Dreadnought Supply & Support Team (DSST) outputs.
* To represent and increase Babcock's strategic system engineering capability within the SWE.
* To maintain a unified and coherent approach to strategic systems engineering support across Babcock business units.
* To work effectively with other UK SW system industry partners within the Strategic Weapons Enterprise.
* To act as a Babcock subject matter expert for the SWS/SWSS systems and equipment, providing advice and facilitating information exchanges as required to support business outputs.

What do I need to do the role?

You will need to be educated to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant Engineering discipline, possess membership or be applying for membership of a profession engineering body (IET, IMechE) and be a Suitably Qualified and Experienced Person (SQEP) in Submarine SWS/SWSS programme, policies, procedures, technologies, equipment, support, and operations.

We would also like you to have:
* Recent experience of working with MoD/Royal Navy or Defence Industry
* Well-developed interpersonal skills

What else do I need to know?
* This role is on a full-time permanent basis

* You must be a sole UK national and ideally hold current/active or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC). Candidates who do not meet the above criteria will not be considered for this post.
