About the role

Here at Babcock Education, we're looking to recruit a GRT Advisor to work as a member of the team to promote the successful inclusion of children and young people from Traveller heritages in mainstream settings and schools across Devon.

Key Tasks and Activities:

  • Work with staff in mainstream schools to provide inclusive teaching and learning opportunities, raise attainment and achieve compliance with all equality legislation
  • Engage in outreach work, promoting the value of education, addressing individual difficulties in accessing education
  • Teach and support pupils with Distance Learning work on visiting Fairgrounds and Circuses
  • Liaise with others both in and out of county with the aim of ensuring seamless provision for mobile pupils

What do I need to do the role?

You will need to demonstrate a high level of knowledge and understanding of the factors impacting on Ethnic Minority pupils' education and the current guidance on raising their attainment.

You will have the ability to plan and prepare education resources suitable to promote Education within traveller communities.

We would also like you to have a successful track record of improved outcomes for children and young people who are vulnerable or from disadvantaged backgrounds.

What else do I need to know

  • The successful candidate must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role. Candidates will be put through QTS and Sanction and Prohibited checks. You will be required to hold a full driving licence and provide a vehicle for business use.
