About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit a Project Engineer.

We are proud to be the UK's leading submarine support provider. We are entrusted with the upkeep and deep maintenance of our Nation's submarines, which have been compared to the space shuttle in terms of complexity and are one of the most challenging engineering projects undertaken in the UK.

Whilst we continue to provide the Royal Navy with safe, highly capable Vanguard and Trafalgar classes of submarine, we are also preparing for the future. The Astute class represents the largest, most advanced and most powerful attack submarines ever operated by the Royal Navy. This is critical work that requires the very best people.
Reporting to a Senior Project Engineer, you'll support the planning and execution of Vanguard and Trafalgar Class Submarines Deep Maintenance Periods (DMPs).

We are currently seeking highly motivated team players to join us as Project Engineer as key members of our established, but developing team. In return, you will be part of an exciting transformation across our project management and project controls function, driving world class project delivery performance. Main Purpose of Role:
* Analysing, vetting and interrogating the Work Specification to ensure a full and detailed understanding and interpretation of the Customer requirements.
* Giving technical support to the contract bid preparation.
* During the Planning and Execution Phases - Link all Elements of work to comply with the requirements of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
* Maintain the appropriate Project records, as directed by Senior Management to support the Project responsibilities.
* Timely processing of Emergent/Additional work, including agreement the technical contractual requirement, so that the work can be progressed in accordance with Project schedules.

What do I need to do the role?
You'll need to be qualified to a minimum of an ONC or NVQ L3 in an Engineering Discipline.

Would also like you to have experience in all or some of the following:
* Knowledge and experience of submarine systems would be an advantage, however, experience within a marine based engineering environment would be considered as relevant training will be provided to the successful candidates.
* Excellent communication skills and be capable of engaging effectively with internal and external customers and stakeholders.
* Proficient in the application of Project Management Tools and how they are utilised throughout the Project Lifecycle.
* Experience of working with the Project Delivery Framework and Project Management Principles.
