As part of the Dreadnought Submarine programme, which is currently the largest programme in defence with a budget of £34 billion, you'll work on a large design and build programme of national importance with a healthy, long term order-book and within a growing business that is consistently achieving double digit annual growth by protecting existing interests, adapting to a changing defence landscape and growing into new markets by embracing new technology.

Although this role is heavily involved within the Defence industry we welcome applications from all project management backgrounds. As well as working on some of the most high-profile projects we also offer a supportive work environment where innovation is at the heart of what we do.

Duties for this role include:

* Overall accountability for the successful delivery of WHLS or DAS, Life Raft and Trainer systems hardware and associated quality documentation to the customer within agreed timescales and budgets and to the specified quality.
* Overall accountability for timely and accurate reporting of management information both within the business and to the customer.
* Setting of objectives and performance targets for the sub-delivery team leads and holding them to account for their respective responsibilities and performance.
* Ensuring that the sub-delivery team leads understand overall cost / time / quality requirements and remain co-ordinated in their approach to delivering the overall contracted scope of work.
* Ensuring that potential contract variations raised by the customer, or internal delivery lead, are reviewed and actioned appropriately.
* Identification and exploitation of cost / time out opportunities that improve delivery performance.
* Ensuring appropriate levels of governance and assurance (as per the BMS) are being applied within the delivery team.
* Engaging with the project controls team to ensure schedule, cost, scope and risk information is provided where relevant / required.
* Leading on internal reporting of management information to support governance requirements.

Commercially and financially astute and with well-honed organisational and planning skills, you will be used to frequent interaction with senior leaders and key stakeholders, utilising your strong communication, relationship building and team playing capability.

You're someone who brings big ideas and solves complex problems with simple and elegant solutions. You're able to drive programme change and be adaptable in new environments. You continuously champion high performance, challenge the status quo, actively seek out different perspectives and are not afraid to speak up.

What else do I need to know?

* Holiday entitlement: 25 days, plus bank holidays;
* Pension scheme with employee pension contributions matched up to 8% of salary, with life assurance;
* Our Babcock Rewards Platform allows you to choose from a range of benefits that best meet your needs, including: critical illness insurance, travel insurance, healthcare cash plan, dental insurance, childcare vouchers, bike scheme, shopping offers and discounts
