Assistant Procurement Manager (Marketing)

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a world leading global organisation, our global FMCG client (the powerhouse behind brands such as Walls, Persil, Magnum and Knorr) as an Assistant Procurement Manager (Marketing) to be based in Leatherhead , Surrey (KT22 7GR) (to commence working from home until COVID-19 restrictions are lifted). This is a full-time temporary role to start ASAP for 12 months, paying up-to £41,000k pro rata, per annum depending on experience.

MAIN JOB PURPOSE:

This is an exciting opportunity to join the One MBS team in the UK & Ireland. MBS is responsible for managing a supplier base of 40,000+ suppliers across Marketing, Business Services and IT.

The role will focus on landing global and local initiatives for marketing procurement in the UK & Ireland.

You would be working on procuring services & materials including:

• PR, Influencers & Social Media
• Premiums, Point of Sale Materials & Gifting
• Marketing Materials Warehousing
• Ad hoc & continuous research
• Field Sales & Merchandisers

You will be landing global strategies in the market as well as developing and rolling out local procurement strategies. There is also an opportunity to be involved in projects such as supplier equity, diversity & inclusion, living wage, sustainability, responsible sourcing, competitive buying and people & wellbeing.

You will be responsible for landing key metrics in your space including savings, cash, Responsible Sourcing, contract compliance, and preferred supplier usage.

The role has a strong focus on working with our stakeholders and agency partners to collaborate with them, support the commercial and strategic relationship to improve performance and focus on value.

JOB SUMMARY:

• Support of global and local teams in commercial discussions
• Lead specific initiatives in the global & local strategy
• RFP processes, support in ongoing negotiations
• Strong stakeholder and relationship skills
• Automation of existing processes to create capacity
• Support the team in cross functional projects, where appropriate/necessary, management of project timelines, holding stakeholders accountable
• Internal performance reporting with the ability to obtain insights from data analysis

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

Education/qualification/experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Business (preferred)
• 5 Years of Marketing or Procurement experience (Marketing Procurement experience preferred)
• Relevant negotiation skills and sound commercial acumen
• Project management
