Manpower is currently recruiting for Emergency Call Handlers to work for our client based in Winchester, taking 111 or 999 ambulance calls.

We're looking for people who want to make a difference and are looking for something other than the normal 9-5 job. Previous office or health service experience is not required, but good customer service skills must be demonstrated.

Successful candidates will receive substantial training and investment, after which they will be taking calls from the public for this service using the in-house computer systems with ongoing support. There will be further opportunities to progress.

This role would suit an individual who wants to do something different and is looking for longer term career possibilities within one of the country's top services. It would also be suitable for individuals with a background in caring for others, who want a new challenge and are looking for some responsibility. You will be providing services such as First Aid information, dispatching ambulances, and passing on information to relevant services. We require a minimum of 2 GCSE's (or equivalent) in Maths and English.

This client offers a 6-8 weeks training and support programme. You must be available to attend training from 9.00am - 4.30pm for 6-8 weeks on your selected intake date, which will be agreed with candidates prior to interviews taking place.

The site is operational 24/7 365 days a year, so applicants must be flexible to cover different shifts which will include 6, 8, 10 and 12 hour shifts, days, nights and weekends on a part or full time basis.

All successful candidates will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check and must be able to provide Manpower with compliance ID.
