HR Business Partner
Location: Canterbury
Salary: £28-29,000 DOE + additional benefits including Blue Light Card scheme, discount at local shopping centre, counselling & support helpline & subsidised meals
Hours: Monday - Friday
HR Business Partner currently required to join a large, Kent-based charity, specialising in palliative care to assist with developing the charity's volunteer services strategy across the whole organisation.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading and managing the organisation's volunteer services to ensure that volunteers are
- effectively recruited, managed, trained and supported
- To be an active member of the senior management team, working closely with colleagues and stakeholders to promote, develop and embed the principles of the organisation's volunteer services
- Clearly communicate the charity 'mission' for excellent end of life and palliative care
- Enhance and embed the value that the charity places on, and gains, from its volunteer services through the development of a professional and effective volunteer operations
- Review and analyse current and on-going volunteer activity to drive continuous improvement
- in the roles to support the objectives
- Work closely with colleagues to ensure that volunteering roles are considered and included in all proposals, projects and services.
- Ensure that volunteers work in a safe, healthy and supportive environment and comply with the charity policies and procedures.
- Manage volunteer data using appropriate technology, to support the relationship between volunteers and the charity
- Work closely with site Service Managers and other functional managers to develop systems, processes and policies which retain, develop and motivate our volunteer workforce
Skills and experience:
- Experience of recruiting and coaching volunteer or employee groups
- Desirable - experience of working with volunteers in a third sector environment
- Project management experience would be advantageous
- Able to demonstrate leadership abilities and strategic thinking
- Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a diverse range of individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to present effective
communication to individuals, groups and the public - Organised, self-motivated, with excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and manage varied work schedule
- Excellent I.T. skills, including experience with CRM databases
- Significant understanding of HR and/or Volunteer policies and procedures
- Knowledge of applicable laws and liability risks
- Desirable - knowledge of palliative care
- Level 5 or equivalent qualification in the Management of Volunteers or Level 5 CIPD
