About the role
Here at Babcock International we're looking to recruit an Apprenticeship SEN and Welfare Support Assistant to facilitate the support of safeguarding operations with administration tasks required to safeguard our apprentices
You will be required to manage data on CPOMs, identifying outstanding actions and cross referencing all applicable systems to highlight SEN learners amongst the training team ahead of arrival; and in collaboration with the Safeguarding Manager, you'll identify support requirements.
You will also identify learners requiring LSF and support the process with the central team and manage a small case load of learners with SEN needs; and carry out welfare calls to apprentices ahead of their arrival whilst at the training centre.
Additional Duties
- Provide strong administrative support in a timely fashion for the Central Safeguarding team and VWG Academy staff.
- Contribute to raising the awareness of safeguarding amongst staff
- Support with the input and management of safeguarding information into the CPOMS system.
- Respond to low level safeguarding issues taking appropriate action i.e. talking to learners, gathering information, etc.
- Take minutes of safeguarding meetings; ensuring accurate records are kept and logged
- Produce reports and statistical information (e.g. safeguarding cases, categories, etc.) as required by the Academy Manager or the Safeguarding Manager.
What do I need to do the role?
You must be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or equivalent i.e. in Business Administration
Would also like you to have experience in all or some of these areas:
- Experience of using the CPOMS system
- Experience of arranging additional support for learners with additional learning needs
- Experience of working with a wide range of agencies
- Working knowledge of safeguarding legislation to include KCSIE, the Prevent agenda as well as personal responsibilities
