About the role

Babcock LDP is commissioned on behalf of Devon County Council to deliver the Elective Home Education Service that provides advice and support to home educating families across Devon.

Devon is committed to supporting all children to access their full educational potential.

We are seeking to recruit a highly skilled and experienced SEND Elective Home Education Adviser to work specifically with families of children with additional needs including those with an EHCP or seeking one.

What do I need to do the role?

  • Outstanding communication skills and high levels of emotional intelligence;
  • Support and challenge to ensure that home educated children are having their educational and welfare needs met
  • The ability to inspire confidence in others, including in challenging and complex situations
  • Excellent organisational skills including effective time management
  • A good knowledge of the school curriculum (across all key stages), particularly early years
  • Understanding of a range of complex needs and their possible impact on learning
  • Knowledge and understanding of Elective Home Education and alternative provision
  • Open minded, think outside the box, a reflective thinker

What else do I need to know?

  • This position will require completion of an application form.
  • The role is mobile and you will be required to hold a full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use
  • An enhanced DBS and CBL check is required for this post
