About the role

At HMNB Clyde, we manage a number of activities on behalf of the MOD and currently we're looking for a Programme Support Manager to join us. We provide highly specialised engineering support services, including operational maintenance, upgrades and repair to ships and submarines and submarine operator and maintainer training for the Royal Navy's Astute Class submarines.

As a Programme Support Manager you will lead and support on our Systems Transformation Programme (STP). You will work closely with project teams and key business stakeholders to ensure that business requirements map to functional elements of the STP. Identifying and resolving design issues, coordinating input to business change activity and training needs analysis. Assisting the data representatives with the coordination of data cleanse and migration activities and performing user acceptance testing for the relevant business area.

This is an exciting major transformation programme which will radically improve our service delivery and the day-to-day experience of our users. Following the completion of the programme you will support the continuous business transformation of all activities pertinent to the delivery of our customer contracts within HMNB Clyde and including contracted deliverables, operational activities and development (project) delivery activities.

The position also offers a host of opportunities to drive continuous improvement.

What do I need to do the role?
You will have a strong track record leading business / IT Transformation programmes with an ability to act with the best interests of the user, challenging business assumptions where required that will accelerate and drive the transformation programme forward. Ideally this experience will be within a facility or maintenance management environment. It is desirable that you are qualified to HND or Degree level in an Engineering, Business or IT discipline or HNC with extensive relevant experience.

Experience working within a complex operational environment interfacing with multiple, internal and external senior and customer stakeholder groups is required. You will be experienced in the processes associated with infrastructure management activities, system migration and development and have significant experience of ERP solutions for programme management and resource scheduling, a working knowledge of SAP or IFS would be advantageous.

What else do I need to know?
We support agile working and this role offers remote working with the requirement to visit site weekly for workshops etc.
