Mechanical Fitter (Estates Maintenance)
About the role
We currently have an opportunity for a Mechanical Fitter to join a growing team which is responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on facilities at HM Naval Base Clyde.
You will be responsible for investigating and diagnosing faults, repairing and maintaining mechanical aspects of facilities such as heating systems, ventilation systems, generators, compressors, mechanical pressure systems and other mechanical equipment.
It is important that applicants are comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
What do I need to do the role?
You will have previous Mechanical Fitter experience and a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship qualified to SVQ, NVQ or City & Guilds Level 3.
You will have experience of working on one or more of the following:
- Heating and ventilation systems
- Boilers / Steam, LTHW and MTHW systems
- Compressed air systems
- Mechanical pressure systems
You will demonstrate a strong focus on delivering high-quality workmanship to agreed timescales and are fully aware of the importance of applying stringent Health and Safety principles within the workplace, along with strong team working and interpersonal skills.
What else do I need to know?
You should hold or have the ability to obtain full SC clearance.
This is a Clyde role and successful candidates will be based at either Coulport or Faslane dependant on the available start date.
