Manpower Logistics are recruiting Production Operatives for our client in Scunthorpe.
This role involves working for a national organisation who treat every staff member the same and make it an enjoyable environment to work in, the role is site based but due to the nature of the work you would be carrying out it is an extremely clean, welcoming friendly site that is more like an office than a production site.
The Role
You will be provided with full training and all the necessary equipment so that you can accurately assemble components and electronic cabling to produce a variety of electrical products.
This will require you to diagnose and rectify faults in a timely and safe manner, you will be required to work to deadlines so the ability to work in a bustling fast paced environment is a must.
Duties include:
- Soldering and cable preparation techniques
- Soldering techniques such as bucket, lay on and wrap around joints
- Flux applications and cleaning processes, including where necessary IPA ultra-sonic
- Shrink sleeve and solder sleeve applications and indenting
- Splice terminations - crimped and soldered
- Crimping techniques and tool use
An understanding of the tools used within the business, including but not limited to:
- Calibration requirements
- Test meters and other electrical test equipment as is required for relevant self-test
- Solder iron including understanding of temperatures and techniques
- Heat gun including understanding of temperatures and techniques
An understanding of schematic drawings and wiring diagram processes, including but not limited to:
- RFI and EMC understanding - grouping
- Braid and shield terminations and understanding
- Tape, barrier, and adhesive terminations
- Wire routing and forming techniques
An understanding of moulding and encapsulation, including but not limited to:
- How to set up and run moulding / potting machines
- What tools, equipment and compounds are required
The Person
- Good attention to detail
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable
- Ability to work to targets
