An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Health Economics Manager within a world leader in the pharma industry. This role is a fulltime, temporary role for 6 months, based in High Wycombe. The role is working 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, paying a salary of between £70k & £90k depending on the level of skills and experience, pro rata.

As a Health Economics Manager you will lead accelerated, broad market and patient access and funding for our Client's key brands. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role as part of the HEMAR team and will lead a group of market access and health economics specialists. The role reports directly into the HEMAR Lead who in turn reports into the Head of HEMAR.

The goal of the HEMAR department is to optimize the value of both the Company and its products, through the development of a positive external image perceived by payers, by communicating optimally the innovative values of the Company to the patients, to the Regional Health Service and to the community as a whole

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own health economic plans for allocated products, design and develop models and implement studies which meet evidence gaps to build positive and compelling commercial opportunities, including taking projects through internal approval processes
  • Act as the HEMAR Lead on the core country value team (CVT) team, European centre of excellence (CoE) team, HEMAR regional functional network team, and with new product development colleagues to ensure the free flow of information and ideas, while aligning objectives & contributing to product strategy development for appointed brands
  • Own the development of HTA strategy for products in early stage development and manage the HTA core team to develop and agree HTA strategies for allocated products in mid-late stage clinical development through engagement with all relevant internal and external partners
  • Develop, run and deliver high quality submissions to national and local health technology assessment organizations, such as NICE, SMC and AWMSG to achieve positive recommendations
  • Engage with and establish relationships with key clinicians, local and national payers, and HTA officials to support all allocated brands
  • Influence Global/EMEA clinical and health economic evidence generation plans through ongoing proactive interaction with the EMEA/Global partners, including the European Centre of Excellence (CoE) and EMEA functional Network to ensure UK payer evidence requirements are met



Experience and Skills & Qualifications



Functional and Technical Knowledge:

  • Applied skills and technical knowledge - experience in health economics, systematic literature reviews, protocol writing, real world evidence (RWE) and HTA methodologies, policy (keep up to date on the latest NHS), etc.
  • Understanding the internal and external environment for evidence generation and Market Access in UK - specific opportunities, and/or hurdles in terms of local evidence generation
  • Persuasive communication - ability to interact with different partners inside and outside the organization; Give to the development and provision of targeted health economic training programs for internal and external customers


Qualifications:

  • A postgraduate degree (e.g. MSc, PhD) in Health Economics, RWE, Health Service or related field (Biostatistics, Bioinformatics, Data science, Epidemiology, etc.)
  • 5+ years of experience in both Health Economics and Market Access and track record of developing junior staff with both technical and leadership skills is required (1+ years)
  • Knowledge and applied experience in at least one of the following therapeutic areas: Oncology, Infectious Diseases & Vaccines, Pulmonary diseases, Neuroscience, Immunology, Cardiovascular & Metabolism and/or Ophthalmology is preferred
  • Deep understanding of Health Economics concept and evidence synthesis techniques
  • Strong Project Management capability with adherence to strict timelines
  • Ability to work effectively in a sophisticated, diverse and matrix environment
