IT Service Manager
SF38257
Location: Remote working, can be based from anywhere. Occasional travel to Lakeside, Portsmouth, Hampshire, GB, PO6 3EN

Job Purpose
Act as the interface between customers (role covers all Babcock sectors) and Babcock Corporate Services ensuring effective delivery of existing services, understanding of new requirements and the effective transition of new solutions for the business.

Responsibilities and duties:

Customer Relationships
You will be responsible for managing customer relationships through regular executive communication, stakeholder management and customer site meetings. You will act as a point of escalation for the customer, report issues internally and escalate internally where necessary and participate in service transition activities to ensure customers' expectations are managed effectively throughout the transition process and understand how change affects the customer

Solution Management
You will work with the other BCS teams to help create proposals for identified opportunities (bids) and operational requirements, produce Project Briefs, Software Requests and Minor Works requests to meet local business requirements, ensuring all solutions are in line with Sector solution standards, aid PMO in the delivery of change to or new services with a focus on Business Change / adoption of new ways of working and ensure that Sector-wide standards are used where possible and ensure that exceptions are managed according to process (through risk balance case etc)

Service Management
You will assist the customer with understanding the IS bill and play an active role in driving the cost effective use of IS services, attend Service Review Meetings with the customer where required (or other existing forums) and present / communicate IS Delivery Performance and work with customers in the delivery of customer focused Service Improvement Plans

Person Specification
Essential:
You will require experience writing reports for senior stakeholders and presenting report findings verbally, experience in Business Analysis or Requirements management essential along with good understanding of IT and its relationship to the business

Desirable:
We would also like you to have PRINCE2 or equivalent Project Management qualification, ITIL qualification at foundation or practitioner and Technical qualifications (Cisco, Microsoft etc.) along with experience of managing IT budgets and / or involvement in IT commercial negotiations
