About the role

Babcock International Group is a FTSE 250 business and is the UK's leading engineering support services organisation. Our Skills and Learning business is one of the UK's largest private sector providers of vocational and skills training. We work in partnership major employers across the Service and Engineering sectors to help develop their people.

We are the UK's leading provider of automotive training, delivering both commercial and technical excellence to global automotive brands with around 2,000 apprentices on programmes. At Jaguar Land Rover, we deliver both Commercial and Technical Apprenticeship programmes for their UK Academy, ensuring their aspirations for growth will be supported by a talented future workforce.

We are looking to recruit an Apprentice Technical Trainer to join the team at our new site in Leicester to design, develop and deliver a broad range of technical training programmes to meet the requirements of the customer.

As the Apprentice Technical Trainer, you will be responsible for the delivery of all courses in line with the relevant client and awarding organisation requirements, which includes registration, assessment and certification of delegates.

Responsibilities

  • Support the timely completion of all delegates to successfully achieve their apprenticeship and L2 learner journey
  • Ensure all course materials and training areas are booked with the appropriate timescales
  • Ensure all operational areas are of a high quality, fit for purpose and are fully compliant with current Health and Safety legislation

Key accountabilities

  • Maintain professional and current skills qualification through company training and development opportunities
  • Completion of all relevant documentation for apprentices including block reports
  • Monitor feedback from employers and apprentices in line with company procedures
  • Comply with internal verification strategy by ensuring site visits are arranged and sampling plans are up to date

This a great opportunity for someone with industry experience looking to develop skills as a Trainer. We will provide support to gain training qualifications and standard safeguarding training.

What do I need to do the role?

It would be desirable for you to hold a recognised Training / Teaching qualification but this can be gained once in post. However, you must hold an NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent and have proven industry experience.

You will be passionate about training, be self-motivated and have the ability to self-manage. You will be focused on delivering objectives and targets with a good standard of written and verbal communication.
