Manpower is looking for a Store manager in Chesterfield

You will be working between Monday and Saturday, 40 hours a week for 3 months. You will be required to hold full driving licence.

Purpose of the job:
The main purpose of the role is to assist the Store Manager in delivering sales and
increase market share through building effective partnerships with customers as well as
developing and engaging the store team and each individual within the team. The role
will deputise for the Store Manager in their absence.

Key responsibilities:

· Helps lead and inspire the caring culture within the store to achieve HSE excellence,
demonstrating clear signs of movement towards an interdependent culture where every
colleague feels responsible for their own and their colleagues safety and wellbeing.
· Support your Store Manager to deliver a culture of engagement and the national
engagement plan, through action planning.
· Works alongside the Store Manager to develop Talent (improve capability and build
succession) within the store team; assists with the recruitment, training and development of
the team.
· Enhance the role expertise of the store team through full support plan to improve the customer experience.
· Support your Store Manager to ensure that all new starters have a complete and engaging
· Focuses on self-development and leadership.

· Support your SM in the use of Balanced Score Card to live our purpose and our brand,
embedding continuous improvement and aspiration within the Store
· Work alongside your SM to demonstrate ownership of the P&L with an emphasis on driving
sales, while optimising margin, cost efficiency and protecting against stock/cash losses.
Customer Engagement
· Every customer, every time, receives a warm welcome, and informed conversation and a
personalised proposal.
· Support and inspire the engagement and use of our WHY DDC proposition to ensure
consistency in our customers experience.
· Support the SM in creating and executing the right contact plan to support the delivery of
Customers In Growth.
· Support the undertaking of monthly colleague Customer Management observations to
support the development or capability and delivery of Gold on your balance score card.
· Keeps abreast of local competitor activity and supports the Store Manager in making
recommendations on local promotions, pricing etc.
· In conjunction with the Store Manager, delivers upon the commitments contained within the
Store Business Plan and regularly adapt to meet the changing needs of the market place.
· Support your SM to manage the implementation of CRM
· Builds effective relationships with sales force colleagues to achieve store
results, whilst ensuring all distribution strategy actions are delivered.
Business Performance
· Supports the Store Manager in driving delivery of Store business performance; including
achievement of all store Financial and Non-financial targets through focus on the balance
· Support the creation and implementation of the Winning our town plan with monthly
· Alongside the SM review performance - customer and store trends.
· Help manage the team to exceed business performance.
· Work alongside your SM to demonstrate ownership of the P&L with an emphasis on driving
sales, while optimising margin, cost efficiency and protecting against stock/cash losses.

Level of autonomy:
What decisions may the job holder make independently without seeking approval from higher
The Assistant Store Manager / Store Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day operational
work when the Store Manager is not in store. Additionally, the Assistant Store Manager is
responsible for, on the direction of the Store Manager, driving culture, engagement and capability.
