About the role

Here at Babcock International, we are a market leading vehicle conversion specialist and manufacturer of armoured products. We have an excellent reputation for supplying customised products to the emergency services, civil service, military and other security focused organisations - based in the UK and overseas.

We work closely with our customers across a broad range of sectors to develop new and existing vehicle conversions. As technology advances or the intended role of the vehicle changes, we upgrade and commission the vehicle to the new specified level.

We are looking to recruit a Business Support Manager to work in partnership with the Director and their leadership team to support operational delivery across the business area. This role is unique as it sits across the business and will therefore be involved in customer engagement, H&S, financial performance, transformation, KPI performance, reporting and other areas of operational importance. There will also be the requirement to project manage specific customer or business deliverables.

Major tasks and activities:

  • Support in the compilation and creation of the governance packs associated with the delivery of the BU
  • Work with the work stream leads to deliver the foundation programme within the business unit assuming responsibility for the delivery of certain action areas.
  • Take responsibility for executing some contractual elements for customers e.g. exit plans, BCP, reporting.
  • Act as the IAO for the business area
  • Work with the business area to ensure that the H&S improvement plan is delivered to time and quality.

What do I need to do the role?

You will need project management experience and experience in driving delivery through a matrix team environment.

What else do I need to know?

You will work 37.5 hours per week and this can be in Walsall or on a remote basis with 1 day a week in Walsall (to business needs). You must be able to achieve the appropriate security clearance level for this role.
