Maintenance / Handyman

Manpower are currently recruiting for a Maintenance / Handyman to work within our prestigious client based in Birmingham.

The person appointed should be capable of working on own initiative and diagnosing and repairing faults.

You'll need:

Excellent practical skills in basic carpentry, plumbing and electrics

The ability to work on your own initiative

The ability to accurately record details of work carried out

To work flexibly to meet the requirements of the post

To work as part of a team

Excellent communication skills both verbal and in writing

Ability to communicate with people at all levels

Ability to carry out basic property repairs to a high standard

Your day-to-day duties may include:

Putting up curtain rails, shelves and picture frames

Fitting smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors and grab rails

Replacing fuses, plugs and light bulbs

Fitting door and window locks, and alarms

Unblocking sinks, and fixing leaking taps and overflow problems

Adjusting or re-hanging doors

Moving or assembling items of furniture

Painting and decorating

To place and use dust sheets to protect areas from dust etc.

To liaise with the Maintenance Manager on any Health and Safety matters.

Basic gardening services, clearing out guttering or minor building repairs

To be proactive with residents, keeping them informed; maintain positive relations and demonstrate good customer care.

This is a temporary position upto 3 weeks working upto 30 hours per week Mon - Fri paying £9 per hour WITH IMMEDIATE STARTS
