Babcock Education - Specialist Support Assistant
Location: Exeter, Devon, GB, EX2 5GF
20hrs per week term time (39 weeks)
Salary: £9,617.07 (Term Time Only - 20 hours)
September 2021 - July 2022

About the role

Babcock Education LDP are currently recruiting for a new team of Specialist Support Assistants to work delivering the SEND 100 Project- an exciting new initiative from Devon County Council to support children and young people in mainstream schools. The role will be delivering time limited, targeted packages of support in schools across Devon for pupils with special educational needs. We are looking for focused, enthusiastic and solution focused Support Assistants who are committed to inclusive practice and removing barriers to enable all pupils to access high quality education in their mainstream school. You will need good interpersonal skills and the ability to be able to advocate for the child as well as build positive relationships with key staff in the school.

What do I need to do the role?

We are looking for staff who have:

  • Experience of working with children with SEN
  • A can-do attitude and a solution focused approach
  • The ability to use initiative and work well under pressure
  • The ability to communicate effectively with the children and other staff members
  • Experience working with SEN needs would be preferred but training will be provided

What else do I need to know?

Please note these are fixed term posts until the end of July 2022 pending the successful outcome of the project.
