Medical Lab Assistant - Immediate start - Exeter

Manpower are recruiting for up to four Medical Laboratory Assistants within a busy setting. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wishes to pursue a career in Bio-medical Science.

About the role

You will be working alongside Consultant Pathologists, Dissection Practitioners and Senior Staff within the laboratory to ensure the smooth and accurate reception and data collection of specimens. You will be responsible for collection and retrieval of slides and reports for MDT meetings. Daily you will be expected to sort, match, label and distribute specimens ensuring that you are prioritising urgent work. This role does involve working with bio-hazardous, corrosive, and flammable chemicals so previous experience of working within a laboratory environment is highly desirable, but not essential.

About the candidate

To be considered for this role you will need to have exceptional attention to detail and to be able to maintain high levels of concentration over long periods of time. You will need to have a high standard of numeracy and literacy skills.

Due to the nature of this role you will need to have all of your standard injections up to date.

This is a full time, temporary position with the opportunity of career progression. The working hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 to 17:00. The hourly rate £8.92, rising to £9.21 after 12 weeks completed.
